From Line to Pattern to Art in LINYA LINYA

APRIL 18, 2026 – 1159 Creative Space opened a curated group exhibition, “LINYA LINYA,” featuring artworks that show how everything starts with a line. Among the works featured in the exhibit was Richard Lasam’s “Quadrata 4,” one in a series of artworks he creates using fineliners on Bristol board.

Rich started making art because he wanted to do something away from the computer. As he picked up his old tools for manual drafting, he found that he liked drawing. “I realized I could make patterns the way I used to draw floor plans. And without any input from the client, it is like playing with form. I found it surprising, in a good way, how the lines become a pattern.”
