Rectangulus 05 is a work where I am exploring a more traditional "Art Deco" tilt to what I would draw. Focusing on a bilateral symmetry - it evokes a sense of verticality to art work with the angular primary elements.
I am also trying out using a green ink fineliner for this work - A Sakura Pigma pen which gives an accent to the general black and white shapes and lines of the work.
A combination of solid forms and hatches create more variety to the work. This is an abstract work - what I was focusing at the time I was creating this was to give it a feel of being both a floor plan and a section, or a wall detail.
I used an alternating hatch for the basic ink fineliner elements, and it is intended to draw the eye towards the center of the work. Perhaps in the future I may work on making a more expansive and complicated version of this one.
